Unforgettable Summit Experience

Begin your journey with an early morning start from Sembalun. Trek through rolling savannah, rest at scenic posts, and reach Sembalun Crater Rim by late afternoon. After a hearty dinner and restful night, summit push begins before dawn—witness the sunrise from Rinjani’s peak before descending back to Sembalun.

Itinerary

Day 01: The Ascent through the Golden Savanna

  • 07:00 AM | Briefing & Registration: Pick up from your hotel and transfer to Sembalun Village. We handle your official registration at the Rinjani Information Center (RIC).

  • 08:30 AM | The Trek Begins: Start your journey from the Sembalun trailhead (1,150m). The first few hours are a gentle walk through the vast, golden grasslands of the Sembalun valley.

  • 12:00 PM | Jungle Lunch: A fresh, hot lunch is prepared by our porters at Position 2 (1,500m) or Position 3 (1,800m) while you rest.

  • 01:00 PM | The "Regret Hill": Tackle the steep, winding incline toward the crater rim. This is where the real challenge begins as the air cools and the views open up.

  • 05:30 PM | Sunset at the Rim: Arrive at Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639m). Our team will have your tents pitched and hot tea waiting. Witness the sun sink behind the clouds over Segara Anak Lake.

  • 07:00 PM | Dinner & Rest: High-protein dinner served under the stars before an early sleep.

Day 02: The Summit Push & Victorious Descent

  • 02:00 AM | Rise & Fuel: A light pre-trek breakfast of toast or pancakes with hot coffee/tea to fuel your final ascent.

  • 03:00 AM | The Midnight Climb: Begin the steep trek to the summit (3,726m). The final 1 kilometer is the toughest—hiking through loose volcanic scree—but the reward is unmatched.

  • 06:00 AM | Standing on the Roof of Lombok: Reach the Summit of Mt. Rinjani. Watch the sunrise reveal the shadows of Mt. Agung in Bali and Mt. Tambora in Sumbawa.

  • 08:00 AM | Return to Basecamp: Descend back to the Crater Rim for a full, celebratory breakfast.

  • 10:00 AM | Final Descent: Journey back down through the savanna toward Sembalun Village.

  • 04:00 PM | Journey's End: Arrive in Sembalun. Your private transport will be waiting to take you to your next destination in Lombok.

F.A.Q

1. Preparation & Fitness

Mount Rinjani is considered one of the most challenging treks in Southeast Asia. While the savanna trails are manageable, the "Summit Push" involves steep inclines and loose volcanic scree (gravel). We recommend a good level of cardiovascular fitness and some hiking experience.

Yes, but we recommend our 3D/2N. These allow for a slower pace and better acclimatization. The 2D/1N Summit Challenge is best reserved for those who are physically active and accustomed to steep climbs.

We offer a 30-day return policy for all products. Items must be in their original condition, unused, and include the receipt or proof of purchase. Refunds are processed within 5-7 business days of receiving the returned item.

2. Logistics & Booking

The trekking season officially opens from April 1st to December 31st. The best weather is typically from May to September (the dry season), offering clear sunrise views and stable trail conditions.

Yes. All Rinjani Explore packages include the official e-Ticket and entrance fees for the Mount Rinjani National Park. We handle the registration so you can focus on the climb.

You only need to carry your bag with essentials. Your main luggage (suitcases/large bags) can be safely stored at our office. Our team will ensure it is waiting for you when you descend.

The National Park entrance fee is non-refundable. If you cancel your booking, we will return your fund except the ticket fees, since it's already been paid to the government.

3. Gear & Facilities

Our porters are "mountain chefs." You will enjoy hot, fresh meals such as Banana Pancakes, Nasi Goreng, etc. and seasonal fruits. We also cater to Vegetarian and Vegan diets—just let us know in advance!

We provide a private "toilet tent" at every campsite for your comfort and privacy. On the trail, we follow "Leave No Trace" principles to keep the park clean.

We provide the tents, mattresses, and sleeping bags. You should bring:

  • A sturdy pair of hiking boots (broken-in).

  • A warm jacket (temperatures at the summit can drop to 5°C - 10°C).

  • A headlamp and trekking poles (though these can be rented from us).

.

4. Safety & Environment

Safety is our #1 priority. If you feel unwell or exhausted during the summit push, our guide will stay with you or escort you back to the Crater Rim camp. You can still enjoy the incredible views from the camp while the rest of the group summits.

Yes, we work exclusively with licensed local guides from the Sembalun and Senaru trekking associations. Your safety and their welfare are integral to our operations.
